A blog from founder and director, Michael Freund, on where and how the logo came to be.
Back in 2018, when I worked as a subcontractor for other AV companies, I got annoyed about the way that end users were left with equipment. Most projects were scatty, engineers received poor information, clients were promised things that could never be delivered and I once spent three days stood by a loading bay door for equipment that never arrived (yes I really did this!).
When launching MPAV Ltd, I did exactly what every start up does- used Google to find my company name (Michael Peter Audio Visual, MFAV was taken), and I knew exactly what my logo should envisage.
At the time the logo made sense. We installed systems using cables, we need to make it obvious to others that’s what we do. Looking back, we are no longer cable layers, restricted simply to offering infrastructure upgrades. We provide users with a complete service.
Since starting in 2019, we have moved on. Our clients have changed, the huge array of services that we offer has changed and how we deliver the projects has changed. We aren’t just the guys wielding a screwdriver. Clients come to us to help design, specify, sell, install, commission, program, repair and refresh their meeting room technologies. They also come to us for partnered services such as acoustic treatment, Wi-Fi installations, full office fitouts, decorating, telecoms and so much more.
It’s a simple and effective audio-visual service to provide simple and effective meeting room technologies. Not to say that we ourselves are simple but our new logo needed to reflect that. We’ve kept the same brand colours but smartened up our look. Why green? It was our favourite colour that the embroiderers had at the time we started! We will be replacing the logo in so many places, including our vans and uniform, but we are keen to hear your thoughts on our new logo.
